Texas (America)- Plano Collin Nepalese Lions Club wrapped up its Lion Year 2018-2019 on June 30, 2019 by organizing a blood drive and conducting Club’s year-end meeting at the First United Methodist Church in Allen. PCNLC collected 27 units of blood in five hours – a great achievement that exceeded the expectations. Several members of Plano Early Lions Club and Church members donated blood and supported the event. 

 

Club’s achievements of year 2018-2019 and plan for year 2019-2020 were reviewed during the meeting that concluded that year 2018-2019 was a great year for the club.  Club officers/members Dr. Badri Adhikari, Kamal KC, RK Poudyal, Laxmi Oli Panta, Rajina Poudyal and Leo to Lion Kritika Pant and Sweta Gautam talked about past and future projects of PCNLC. Club Treasurer Munesh Kandel presented the financial report and said that 38 members already renewed their club membership for year 2019-2020, and some are in renewal process. PCNLC was chartered in late 2018 with 59 members.  Club officers for year 2019-2020 were installed during the meeting: President (Charter) Prakash Gautam, VP First Dr. Badri Adhikari, VP Second Kamal KC, Secretary Binaya Paudyal, Treasurer Munesh Kandel, LCIF Coordinator Laxmi Oli Panta, Marketing /Communication Chairperson Achyut Rijal, Direcotrs RK Poudyal (Environmental Project Lead), Agni Sanjel, Homa Nath Pokharel, and Santosh KC. A couple of officers who were not present in the meeting will be installed in the next meeting. 

 

During the second part of the meeting Club President Prakash Gautam distributed appreciation plaques to some sponsors and outstanding Lions.  Recipient of sponsorship appreciation were Shree G & Rs LLC, Gaire Group, Lion Kavi Mainali, Lion Santosh KC, and Nepalko Inc. Special appreciations were presented to Past President of DELC (Guiding Lion) Makar Bajracharya, Lion Chuda Mani Siwakoti, Lion Binaya Poudyal, and Lion Munesh Kandel.  

 

President Elect of NRNA (Non-Resident Nepalese in America) Mr. Suneel Sha was the invited guest in the meeting and was awarded a very special congratulatory plaque by the club charter president. During his very thoughtful speech, President Elect Mr. Sha thanked all the members of PCNLC for the hospitality and honor provided to him and promised to work together for the betterment of the community and people in need. He also distributed certificates to blood donors of that day. Past President Radha Krishna Kaphle and Out Going President Thala Raj Panta of Dallas Everest Club briefly talked about Lionism. 

 

Pizza and soft drinks were served during the socialization hours after the meeting. Overall it was a great closing of year 2018-2019!
