Dallas, Texas (USA) – Kathmandu University Alumni North America (KUANA) successfully concluded its second reunion in Dallas, Texas, on August 31, under the theme “Honoring KU Spirit: Strengthening the Alumni Network.” The two-day celebration, held on August 30 and 31 at the Hilton Garden Hotel in Lewisville, brought together more than 140 alumni and their families from across the United States, Canada, Australia, and beyond.

The event opened with a lively panel discussion titled “Celebrating KU Alumni: A Perspective on Career and Life,” moderated by Dr. Rajan Rijal. The panel featured Rohini Shrestha, Owner and CEO of Success on the Spectrum in Langhorne Center, Pennsylvania; Sajan Gautam, General Partner at MOMO VC and advisor to startups; Shubash Lohani, Senior Director of Global Conservation Trusts at The Pew Charitable Trusts; and Saurav Man Singh Basnet, CEO and Cofounder of Inno STEM Lab and Associate Professor. Their interactive discussion highlighted career journeys, entrepreneurial ventures, and global impact projects. Alumni described the session as both inspiring and practical, offering valuable learning and networking opportunities.

Later in the evening, the cultural program opened with the Kathmandu University anthem and a virtual welcome speech by KU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle. The program, hosted by Dr. Rijal, featured cultural performances and recognition of panelists, volunteers, and supporters. A special honor was presented to Mrs. Tara Pradhan, wife of the late Mr. Balaram Pradhan and mother of KU alum Dhiraj Pradhan, in acknowledgment of their contribution to the establishment of the Balaram and Tara Pradhan Energy Block at KU.

The gathering was also an opportunity for alumni—ranging from KU’s first graduating batch to its most recent graduates—to reconnect with friends after nearly two decades. Attendees praised the organizing committee for a well-coordinated event, noting the enjoyable cultural performances and high-quality food.

On the second day, families and children participated in a recreational outing at Hawaiian Waters The Colony, adding a relaxed, family-friendly dimension to the reunion.

The event concluded with the announcement that the next KUANA reunion will be hosted in Boston in 2027, sparking excitement among participants eager to continue building the alumni network.
